Fernandes-Petersen-Russell Trio

John Kiran Fernandes (of The Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System, & Cloud Recordings) on clarinet, Arianna Petersen (of Pondgorl) on cello, & Franklin Russell (of White Cat Incident) on baritone saxophone. Leads in with lively improvisation, then into a looped-reed composition that has some parallels to Brian Eno’s Discreet Music (with stacked non-synchronous loops) that the trio plays over. Also influenced by the looped reed work of Terry Riley & Ariel Kalma, birdsong, and modal-Indian music (which is part of John’s ethnic background).
