Hiding Places
Curiosity drives the songwriting and recording process of the alternative folk project Hiding Places. Spearheaded by Audrey Keelin-Walsh’s intimate guitarwork and Nicholas Byrne’s Elephant 6 inspired approach to production, collaboration is at the heart of Hiding Places’ music. The band took shape after meeting through their university’s radio station in 2019, and recorded remotely throughout the pandemic across London, Brooklyn, Athens, GA, and Chapel Hill.
The group draws influences from scenes across disparate geographical locations – from Athens’ folk-country pioneers Drive By Truckers to the burgeoning D.I.Y. community in London. After recording remotely since 2020, the band is excited to be living together in Brooklyn in 2024. Hiding Places’ newest EP ‘Lesson’, produced by Colin Miller (Wednesday, MJ Lenderman), was recorded at Angel Studios in London, and was released on March 22nd of 2024 through independent Brooklyn-based label HATETOQUIT. The band is now touring on the back of the EP.
