Information and Details About AthFest

Frequent Questions About AthFest:

AthFest is a free, three-day festival that celebrates our local and regional musicians and visual artists. The festival includes three, free outdoor stages with live music, a block-long Artist Market with 55+ visual artists, and a block-long KidsFest area to make sure even our youngest fans get in on the music and art fun! AthFest also includes a two-night Club Crawl where 12+ local venues throughout downtown Athens present live music after the outdoor stages have closed. There is a fee to attend the Club Crawl events. In total, there will be approximately 110 bands that perform as part of AthFest and its Club Crawl. It is an incredible showcase of the best of Athens music and art!
All of the events that happen outside are free and open to the public. These include the three live music stages, the Artist Market area, and the KidsFest area (excluding the bounce house activities). The wristbands are for the AthFest Club Crawl shows, which take place on Friday and Saturday evenings from approximately 10 pm – 2 am after the free outdoor stages have completed their sets. The Club Crawl shows take place inside 12+ venues throughout downtown Athens. The Club Crawl wristband includes access to all Club Crawl venues. Please note that age and capacity restrictions due apply to the Club Crawl performances.
Club Crawl wristbands can be purchased online, at retail locations around downtown Athens, and at the Merchandise Tent during the festival. For a complete list of locations, please visit: /
If you purchased your Club Crawl wristband online, you can pick-up your wristband at the Will Call area at the festival’s Merchandise Tent beginning Friday at 5 pm.
The performance schedule for the free outdoor stages as well as the Club Crawl performances can be found at: Please note that all Club Crawl performances require a Club Crawl wristband or a cover charge.

Unfortunately, no. Athens Clarke County requires that all consumption of alcoholic beverages must stay within designated areas. But don’t worry, the stages and beer gardens are set-up in a way that enable you to have your cold beer in hand and be right in front of the stage at the same time!
We strongly discourage bringing any pets to AthFest. AthFest takes place in June in the middle of downtown Athens. The temperatures are at their highest this time of the year and the pavement can be incredibly hot for little paws. We do not provide water bowls for animals. For the safety of your pets, please do not bring animals to the festival.
There is a block-long KidsFest as part of AthFest! The KidsFest area includes a stage with free live music and dance performances by youth or by youth-friendly performers. The KidsFest area also includes an arts and crafts tent with free activities for the kids. The vendors under the tents at KidsFest vary year-to-year, but most are there to offer free art and music-related activities for kids. Please note that there is a fee for kids to use the bounce house activities. For more information, please visit:
Yes. There is no age restriction to being in the beer garden area, but you must be 21 to purchase and consume beer.
If you purchase a commemorative AthFest Beer Mug, you will receive a 20-ounce pour but only pay the 16-ounce price each time you purchase a beer at one of the AthFest beer gardens. You can use your beer mug at all AthFest beer gardens and for the duration of the festival. The cost of the beer mug includes your first drink.
Each Club Crawl venue has its own age restrictions. Some venues are all ages, some are 18+, and some are 21+. The easiest place to park for AthFest is in the College Avenue Parking Deck located on College Avenue between Clayton and Washington. There are also multiple private lots and metered spots available throughout downtown Athens. Please note that parking in downtown Athens is free on Sunday.
AthFest is intended to showcase the local and regional talent of Athens, and that includes our great local restaurants. All food vendors at AthFest are local Athens restaurants. The food vendors vary year-to-year, but you can be sure to find a number of delicious, local food vendors at AthFest.
It’s June in Georgia, rain is likely. Luckily, the summer rain storms typically only last for 20 – 30 minutes. But with 23 hours of free outdoor live music, a little rain won’t stop us for long. From time to time a rain storm will require us to delay or cancel an outdoor stage performance. We do everything we can to make sure all scheduled performances happen. We want to hear these amazing musicians as much as you do!
AthFest and its images are trademarked. If you would like to use AthFest images or logos, please contact for permission. Each request will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
