Daniel Fell, Theme Artist for 2017
Each year, AthFest Educates selects a local professional artist to create the theme art for our two major events, the AthHalf Half Marathon and the AthFest Music & Arts Festival.
For 2017, AthFest Educates has proudly selected Athens-based photographer/illustrator/graphic designer Daniel Fell to create the 2017 theme. Daniel’s designs will be seen on the event website, social media, merchandise, signage, and promotional materials.
“Daniel’s designs capture the rock & roll dance party vibe of our two great community events, the AthHalf and AthFest. Using bright colors and locally inspired visuals, Daniel’s work artfully reflects the spirit of the events, which promise a good time for all.” - Jenn Bryant, Marketing Chair for AthFest Educates.
Daniel says he submitted his designs for consideration in part because he loves events like AthFest and AthHalf and wanted to be a part of it. “I love community-wide events like this that bring home-towners and visitors together to be a part of Athens’ energy. My contribution is pretty modest, but my hope would be that it’s an identifiable, likable mark that reminds folks of the good time they will have, or did have, at this year’s AthFest and AthHalf.”
Daniel was born in Athens, but moved away when he was nine and came back as an adult. He is a freelance artist, doing mostly graphic design and illustrations for clients locally and nationally, and is a full-time single father to his 15 year-old son, Aidan.
Keep an eye out for Daniels’s great designs at AthFest!
